It’s been a great run for us these last few months. April is already our second highest-grossing month since we launched last June, and there’s no letup in the event world right now with a packed schedule the next few weeks. May/June are starting to confirm several new event installs as well.
We hired two new team members – Tee and Drew. Tee just finished her HVAC schooling and was ready to begin with us on April 1st and BAM! She got a better offer from another company that suited her education a bit better than us. We’re so happy for her and she’s going to stay on in an every now and then weekends-only role with us, picking up shifts when she can. Ya gotta take care of your family first, and her new job helps her do just that.
Drew’s first event with us is this coming weekend, and we’re excited for him to officially join Leaphart’s. Be on the lookout for his bio to be added to the web site here soon. We are currently hiring for additional part-time Event HVAC Assistants if you know anyone looking to jump on-board this crazy startup. Apply or share the job posting here: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4202348504. Full-time hours are possible with time-and-a-half overtime opportunities during our busier periods. We’re very flexible on scheduling around personal time and other jobs.
Our partner spotlight goes to our friends at Equipment Share, saving us on a Friday at 4pm when we needed a transformer we couldn’t find anywhere else. In this business, it happens, even when you thoroughly plan as much as possible, and it’s great to have excellent partners like Patrick Cushman there who do their best to take care of us.
As big Braves’ fans, both Dan and Erik are taking in an afternoon game at Steinbrenner Field against the Rays this coming weekend, while TJ was able to invite his son and friends to a beer festival he was working for us last weekend.
Our final update goes to an emergency call we got from a trusted partner last Sunday morning, where they had a customer producing a festival that day who found out at the last minute, they needed a generator to power their stage as park power didn’t give them enough juice. We were able to deliver and connect the generator about ten minutes after the event started Sunday morning, and the customer was super stoked with our emergency service. You may see a lot of posts on LinkedIn from rental companies “going the extra mile” on the weekends, overnight or on holidays. Everything these guys and girls post about these emergency calls are real and deserve the recognition they get for it. It feels great to be able to “save” an event like that and get instant gratitude from a new or current customer who maybe didn’t know about us beforehand. They sure know us now.
Look out for our initial marketing campaign to kick off in May and how we plan to get the word out about Leaphart’s Specialty Air & Power across Florida in the coming months. That’s a whole blog post by itself!
