There are 9,737 registered power and HVAC rental companies in the state of Florida. Only one exclusively works within the event industry – Leaphart’s Specialty Air & Power. We don’t work in the construction industry, nor do we cool or heat commercial buildings or industrial warehouses. When we get calls for those, we refer the customer to our awesome equipment partners who do work in those fields, such as United Rentals, American Portable Air and Equipment Share.
If you’re an event planner, tent company, venue or event host, consider how much time and effort a potential power and HVAC rental partner has available to put into your event planning process. Ask other companies in the industry – will they come to a walk-through or multiple walk-throughs, join committee meetings or drive across the state to meet? Need several generators delivered and set up to power multiple vendor areas with twenty last-minute changes or additions, a concert stage, catering and several tour buses while needing an experienced technician to stay on-site throughout the actual event time to make sure no hiccups occur? For the larger companies that have several hundred locations across the country, they own multiple segments of the equipment rental industry, so synergy between different divisions they operate, like general tool/power and HVAC make sense. Some of the larger companies even have regional event teams that work hand-in-hand with events across the country, but if you’re not a PGA Golf Tournament, NASCAR race, Super Bowl or disaster relief camp, they simply don’t have the time or reach to make your event a priority.
There are awesome, hard-working people at United, American Portable Air, Equipment Share, Sunbelt, Mobile Air and HERC (to name more than a few of the industry leaders). These men and women get the job done for their store every day and then some in most cases. Walk into any one of them, take a look at their job board on the wall and you’ll see they’re ABSOULTELY SWAMPED with deliveries all day and usually every day.
